Elite WebView 5.3 From Thomson Elite Offers Improved Performance,
Easier Navigation, New Features
LOS ANGELES, June 26, 2007 - Thomson Elite has announced the launch of Elite WebView 5.3, its latest browser-based financial and practice management software. Version 5.3 includes more than 200 features designed for performance improvement, ease of navigation and user convenience, and will be available for general release July 16. Improvements in system performance stem from streamlined data retrieval processes. WebView 5.3 utilizes Open Database Connectivity, which eliminates the need to use the database layer, an extra step before reaching the data being queried. The end result is a faster connection directly to the information a user wants.
In the new version, more information fits on the screen at one time, producing a broader at-a-glance view of any matter. To aid in navigation, cross-referenced information now appears in a new window rather than a refreshed screen so users won't lose their place when they drill down for more details.
Other new features enhance the convenience WebView provides. Within time entry, the ability to mark activity codes as "inactive" clears clutter from pull-down lists of codes to choose from, if a firm no longer needs to make new time entries with old codes. Version 5.3 includes auto-complete functionality to reduce repetitive typing and data entry. After a few letters are entered in a text box, the system automatically searches the timekeeper's frequently used list and displays options that match. Additional new capabilities include search and replace, home page time summary and numerous enhancements to timers and time entry reports.
