Steven Buege Named President and CEO of Thomson Elite
Former CEO Christopher Poole named chairman
LOS ANGELES, September 9, 2006 –Thomson Elite today announced that Steven M. Buege has been named president and CEO of Thomson Elite, a worldwide provider of integrated practice and financial management systems for professional services firms. Buege succeeds Christopher Poole, who has been named chairman of Thomson Elite. Buege assumed his new role on Sept. 5.

He is recognized as an innovator and thought leader in legal technology, has strong customer focus and knowledge of the legal marketplace, and has a demonstrated successful track record in managing technology-driven businesses. Prior to joining Thomson Elite, Buege was senior vice president of Business Information, News and Public Records, and president and CEO of Business Intelligence Services, the Thomson business that provides news, current awareness and business intelligence solutions. He has been a key contributor at West since joining the former West Publishing Corp. in 1986, serving as senior vice president, Operations for West, senior vice president and chief technology officer for Thomson Legal & Regulatory, and vice president of West Technical Services.
Buege earned an MBA from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management and graduated summa cum laude with bachelor’s degrees in computer science, business management and economics from Mankato State University in Mankato, Minn.
