New Practice Management Features in Elite Enterprise 3.6 Reflect Strategic Product Vision and Provide Improved Risk Management Tools

Partnerships with industry organizations yield valuable user input in designing new version

LOS ANGELES, June 12, 2006 A new version of the Elite® Enterprise suite of financial and practice management applications, including significant additions to practice management functionality, is now available from Thomson Elite. The new capabilities in Enterprise 3.6 are the result of heavy research and development investments the company has made in association with highly respected legal industry groups.

Working with Hildebrandt International, a global leader in professional services consulting, Thomson Elite conducted interviews on what customers need most in a practice management software suite. Both organizations are part of The Thomson Corporation, which affords them a unique opportunity to combine strengths and develop advanced practices for the legal industry. The interviews included forums with general counsel from major law firms to discuss issues involved in new business intake and conflicts analysis.

Conflicts Manager in Enterprise 3.6 improves efficiency by displaying all matters and clients linked to a related party in the conflict search result list. Seeing more relevant information at a glance reduces the number of clicks needed to review the detail on which to base new business intake decisions. Users also can generate attractively formatted, easy-to-read conflicts reports using Elite® Document Studio templates.

Records Manager now offers active integration with Interwoven WorkSite, a collaborative document management platform, to manage all physical and electronic documents within the Elite® Records Manager application. The new Pleading Index feature enables the creation and maintenance of a table of contents of all pleadings related to a case, automatically reorganizing and renumbering files as they are added to the system.

Task functionality, which provides all the advantages of event creation without date dependency, has been added to Case Manager in Enterprise 3.6. Users can view all tasks assigned to a matter and assign tasks to individuals or groups. Tasks can have child tasks linked to them or be linked to events.

“Partnering with Hildebrandt has allowed us to further develop our software offerings that automate the workflows and processes inside law firms,” said Chris Poole, president and CEO, Thomson Elite. “In Enterprise 3.6 we use the knowledge we gained to enable firms to reduce risk exposure and increase firm efficiency with our practice management applications.”
