Thomson Elite Helps Law Firms Gain Insight Into Operations and Client Business Relationships With Elite Business Intelligence
New Features Help Increase Profitability and Gain Competitive Advantage

NEW YORK - Jan. 30, 2006 – The Elite® Business Intelligence solution from Thomson Elite now offers enhanced capabilities and more ways to retrieve and share performance data for law firms and other professional services organizations. These tools empower firm decision makers and business analysts to gain deeper insight and visibility into operations and client business relationships.

Elite Business Intelligence produces near real-time productivity metrics and analytics from a single integrated business intelligence (BI) platform. The solution facilitates data retrieval, reporting, query and analysis to help firms increase profitability and gain a competitive advantage.

"Today's competitive firm leaders demand speed, visibility, integration and the ability to immediately collaborate with others to tackle critical firm decisions," said John Callahan, director, market segments, Thomson Elite. "Our industry-leading solution provides insights into trends and key performance indicators our diverse client base needs to increase profitability."

As a Platinum OEM Partner, Thomson Elite worked with Business Objects, the world's leading provider of BI solutions, to develop industry best practices that simplify usability and improve documentation. Elite Business Intelligence delivers these powerful enhancements with the support of Business Objects XI, the latest version of Business Objects' enterprise BI platform.

New Elite Business Intelligence highlights include the following:

Live Office. Elite Business Intelligence users can now embed graphs and other BI data directly into Microsoft® Office suite programs. The data in these documents is "live" rather than a fixed capture, allowing multiple users to collaborate, refresh and edit the data after the content is created.

Discussions. This unique feature enables collaborative, threaded notes within a specific report. All user comments are stored in a central repository, eliminating loss and dispersion of data that are common in forwarded e-mails.

Single Report Bursts. A new publication and subscription feature allows reports to be distributed throughout the firm so recipients see their own personalized data. Profiles stored for each timekeeper eliminate the need to create and send every report manually.

Web Query and Analysis. The Web Intelligence reporting tools can now create complex reports from multiple data sources. Users have an interactive experience directly from their browser, and can query data at many levels on the fly.

Encyclopedia. With the Encyclopedia, documents created from BI content contain customizable reference guides to provide a deeper understanding of the analytic content. The Encyclopedia offers instant access to the underlying context for confident, accurate and consistent decision making.

Process Tracker. Process Tracker allows firms to visually map, track and communicate standardized business processes through a set of activities and their associated BI content for more consistent and proactive decision making.
